Dr. Cy Herring – President
Dr. Herring has 10+ years in the clean energy sector and broad entrepreneurial and scientific experience with start-up companies Sencera and Caviton. He has been an integral part of the Eden Park Illumination technical team since 2010 and has 20 years experience in micro discharge technology. Cy invented and developed new technologies for sensor designs based on gas analysis and holds several patents in this field. He earned his Doctorate in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois where he studied with Dr. J. Gary Eden.
Dr. Sung Jin Park – Co-Founder and VP of Science
Dr. Park is the Co-inventor of Micro Plasma technology while at the University of Illinois. He is recognized world-wide as a plasma lamp technology expert. He is an Adjunct Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Illinois and has authored 100 publications relating to this technology. Sung Jin holds 45 patents, is a Senior Member of IEEE and IUVA and earned his PhD in Chemistry.
Dr. J. Gary Eden – Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer
Dr. Eden is a Distinguished Scholar recognized globally for advances in Micro Plasma technology. He is a Member of the National Academy of Engineering and a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois. Gary has authored more than 200 publications in the area of advancement of Micro Plasma technology and holds 60 patents. He is a Fellow and active member of several technical societies including the Optical Society of America (OSA), the IEEE, the American Physical Society, the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), and the SPIE.
Randall Crothers – VP of Business Development, Sales and Product Management
Randy has more than 30 years experience in the commercial, industrial, decorative and outdoor lighting industries with highly respected companies including Acuity Brands, Holophane, American Electric Lighting and Watchfire LED Signs. He has had P&L responsibility for successful multi-million dollar businesses and has introduced 100’s of new lighting products to serve 1000’s of visual task applications. Randy is LEAN certified, a Member of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA), Lighting Certified by the NCQLP, holds 4 patents and earned his Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Colorado.
