CUSTOM FLAT EXCIMER LAMPS

A variety of shapes and sizes of lamps can be fabricated (according to the application), with or without phosphor conversion coatings. The lamps are fabricated from flat sheets of fused silica to allow the UV to exit the gas discharge in the middle layer of the lamp. Our standard evaluation product is 50 mm square (on edge) and is available at 172 nm, 222 nm, 220–280 nm (phosphor), and 308 nm.

The evaluation lamp comes with a 10 watt power supply. Light comes out of both the front side and rear side of the lamp. Due to the microcavity design of the lamp, most of the power comes out of the front of the lamp, with about 70% of that value exiting from the back side. Reflectors mounted directly on the back of the lamp can be used to increase the amount of UV exiting the front.

The picture above shows a lamp and power supply system. The lamp ballast generates high voltage (HV) and the customer should be aware of HV handling practices as well as UV exposure precautions and handling. Customers should mount the system according to Eden Park guidelines.
