Michael McCullough currently serves as a part-time Chief Financial Officer for Eden Park Illumination Inc., Digital Acoustics LLC, 10x Technology LLC, and Kribi Coffee Company. He is also the Administrative Partner of Independence Equity I, L.P. (“IE”), a venture capital fund investing in early-stage companies in the Midwest. Michael joined IE in 2009. He has also provided part-time CFO services to other early-stage companies. Michael previously had joined Oryx Capital in 2006, where he served as the company’s CFO with additional responsibilities that included liaison with portfolio company financial reporting and internal reporting to investors. Michael’s previous experiences included auditing and internal audit at Arthur Andersen, Baker & McKenzie, and GATX. During 15 years at GATX, Michael served in numerous financial and operational capacities, concluding his tenure there as Director of Financial Planning and Analysis.
He received his BBA degree in Accounting from the University of Iowa and the Masters of Management degree from the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management. Michael, who is a licensed CPA, is also currently a Business Management Professor at the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management where he has taught Managerial and Financial Accounting since 2003.
Dave Stover has over 30 years of diversified experience in Sales, Purchasing, Production Control and Lean Manufacturing, Operations Management and General Management. Responsible for all aspects of business. Including: P&L, business growth, complex new product development and launches, customer relationships, operations management at multiple facilities. Achieved sustained profitability through cost reduction and profitable growth. Lead purchase and renovation of new assembly plant in Reynosa Mexico. Achieved long term agreements with key customers.
Responsible for Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Production Control and Logistics. Utilized lean manufacturing techniques to reduce working capital and cost per standard hour. Led the lean revolution for Delphi North America. Led hands on waste reduction workshops across US and Mexico. Presented story at James Womack Lean Enterprise Institute.
Stover has a BS degree in Economics from Purdue University and a MBA from Ball State University.
As Eden Park’s President, Cy is responsible for all operations at the company’s production facility. Cy brings deep experience in plasma chemistry, product development and engineering processes.
After receiving his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Illinois (B.S. in Physics University of North Carolina Chapel Hill in 1989 and M.S. in Physics from Illinois in 1992), Dr. Herring has had leading roles in several businesses centered around plasma chemistry including environmental monitoring of heavy metals at Caviton, silicon PV panel development at Sencera and excimer plasma lighting at Eden Park. He has successfully acquired and completed contracts with the US Air Force, Navy, EPA, DOE and NIH.
Dr. Herring is a hands-on technologist, entrepreneur, and experimental researcher focusing on product development, tool design processing techniques to cost-effectively mass produce products.
Dr. Gary Eden is the Intel Alumni Endowed Chair Emeritus Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and founded Eden Park with Dr. Sung-jin Park in 2007, based on innovations made at the University of Illinois as Director of the Laboratory for Optical Physics and Engineering. His groundbreaking work in the field is the foundation on which many UV products are built today.
Dr. Eden has authored over 300 journal publications and has been awarded 80 patents. As Founder, he provides experienced perspectives in UV technology, as well as strategic advice to current Eden Park leadership.

As CTO, Dr. Sung-Jin Park manages iteration and exploration of Eden Park’s new generation of functional UV light. Sung-Jin is a pioneer in the science and application of microplasma devices and arrays and has invented several new technologies over the last 20 years of his career. He co-founded Eden Park Illumination with Dr. Eden in 2007 for the commercialization of microcavity plasma UV technology.
Currently, Sung-Jin leads the research and innovation of Vacuum-UV and UV microplasma lights and has been the principal investigator of several federal programs (US DoE, DoD, DARPA, and NIH) developing the next-generation applications of Eden Park’s lamp technology. He is also an adjunct professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Dr. Sung-Jim Park holds more than 80 US and International patents and 130 publications in this field.
As Eden Park’s VP of Business Development, John leads the company’s customer engagement, partnerships and product marketing. He also founded and runs T2G Ventures which invests in advanced manufacturing, IoT, digital health and data analytics companies where he works closely in partnership with company CEO’s and founders typically in a senior business development operating role.
Previously, John was a Managing Director at Energy Foundry, a venture firm and innovation hub for IoT and software and Illinois Ventures, where he served in senior management roles in several start-ups and was the founding investor in Eden Park. He’s been the Chair of the Annual Global Midwest Alliance Corporate Venture Capital Events from 2015 – 2017 and has served on the boards of a wide variety of high growth technology companies. His portfolio investments won numerous awards including MIT Top 10 Technologies, EPA Product of the Year and the WSJ Annual Technology Innovation Award.
He currently sits on the boards of Calico Data and Novian Health. John earned his BS and MS degrees in General Engineering from the University of Illinois at Champaign Urbana and his MBA from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.
John Yerger has more than 30 years of executive experience building, growing and turning around global technology businesses in the U.S., Europe, Mexico and Asia. He has significant experience in market creation, high technology manufacturing and successfully developing and taking products to market in companies ranging from start-ups to multi-billion dollars in sales.
Most recently, as president and CEO of Advanced Diamond Technologies, he led growth from a pre-revenue spin-off from Argonne National Laboratory to a commercial entity. ADT’s first product line was commercialized into a very profitable business that was recently sold to the Smith Group John Crane, a large multinational company. Prior to ADT, John was president and CEO of Total Electronics (Indiana, Mexico, California), which grew to over $65 million in sales, and was sold to Kinpo (Taiwan).
He also played a leading role in bringing revolutionary new products to market and turning around industrial automation businesses at DEK (U.K) and Universal Instruments, both subsidiaries of Dover, Inc. at the time. These products received several international product awards, doubled in sales and grew profitability. The product platform at DEK remains the market leader, 20 years later. John has also held several leadership positions in nonprofit entities.
He currently serves in leadership roles in both the Cornell University and University of North Carolina alumni/parent organizations, with a focus on improving the health and well-being of students through inclusion, equity and respect for diversity.
